Our latest silk flower creation for a three tier wedding cake.
Flowers really make a wedding but the bride wanted to be able to keep the flowers from her cake and worried about sugar paste flowers being too delicate and difficult to store, so we opted for silk.
The bride and groom chose a colour scheme of blue and yellow which is not a natural choice when the flower in question is a rose.
We worked with them to create a flower colour palette to compliment a plain Ivory three tier wedding cake.
The bride just loves anything that glistens, so wanted diamante and pearl embellishments too. We worked these in by adding them to the centre of the smaller flowers and as pearl sprays in the arrangements. A simple silver ribbon went around each tier of the cake.
Each of the flowers was hand crafted from silk and painted with silk dye to match their colour scheme. The small open ivory roses were touched with a glimmer dye to make them have a pearly appearance.
The sprays were then arranged and bound in organza ribbons of palest blue and white and supplied with pins to attach them easily to the cake.
