We use ancient Japanese techniques to create 3D flowers, petals and butterflies from silk organza and Organdie.
Silk flowers and butterflies have become very popular with couture designers bringing texture and movement to bridal and evening gowns.
Originally made for the professional embroiderer, these dainty embellishments can be easily attached with tiny stitches, seed beads, pearls and diamantes.
They flutter gently with movement and when layered add extra dimension to wedding veils and gowns.
How they are made
High quality Silk and Organdie is stiffened using traditional flower making techniques and then cut and hand shaped to form a 3D effect.
The delicate flowers are then packed in clamshell packs to protect them in the post.
What colours are available?
We hold stock in popular colours such as Ivory, White, Blush pink and Black but as these are hand dyed to order we can just about create any colour you require.
Especially popular are our Silk and Organdie butterflies which are die cut in a variety of sizes.
They can be supplied flat but are usually packed folded so that when they are attached, their delicate wings open and move in the breeze.
We also make these butterflies in lace and again, just like the silk flowers, we can hand dye to any colour you require.
For the Courturier and costume designer, we can supply these in larger quantities and custom sizes.
